REACH RegulationREACHis the acronym for registration, Evaluation, Authorisation of Chemicals. Regulation REACH (CE) n. 1907/2006 has become effective since the 1st of June 2007 and - through a consolidated act - replaced most of previous EU legislation concerning chemicals, introducing an integrated system for registration, assessment, certification and restriction REACH provides for the registration of all substances produced or imported in the EU mainland exceeding or equal to 1 TONNE per year. EU Agency has esteemed that such procedure will pertain to 30000 substances in use in the chemical sector and in several manufacturing supply chains. The new regulation also establishes ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) located in Helsinki whose mission is managing and sometimes carrying out technical-scientific and administrative aspects of interest and assuring their enforcement consistency with the EU legislation.
